Welcome to Learning Man
Dip a toe in Burning Man culture and you’ll inevitably come away with new knowledge and skills acquired through learning by doing, or via structured workshops, training and symposia.
Deepening Our Role as an Educational Organization
We continued to develop projects that help Burners to share and acquire skills. The Event Operations team restarted in-person convenings with a small learning and planning event in Reno, Nevada. Burning Man Hive is an online space for people inspired by Burning Man to learn, share and connect. The Gerlach Workforce Development Center (GWDC) is a community learning program with an in-person presence in Gerlach. Knowledge shared in Hive and at GWDC goes beyond making your burn brighter; it builds skills that nurture stronger communities and a better world.
A Core Curriculum of Leadership Knowledge
Over the years Burning Man Project and the community have developed core knowledge that supports successful leadership. We’ve now digitized these courses into a curriculum, which includes Collaborative Decision Making, Giving and Receiving Feedback and Emotional Intelligence, and made them accessible to anyone who creates a Hive account using their Burner Profile.

Resource for Playa-bound Burners
When it became apparent that Black Rock City 2022 was a GO, Hive became a hub for sharing knowledge and finding collaborators in new spaces such as Matchmaker – Camps & Campers and The Virgin Burner’s Guide.
